How may therapy help?
Living with a chronic illness affects more than just your physical health. It can brings with it a whole host of psychological challenges. For example, grief for the life you once had or a feeling of being trapped in your body. Furthermore, many sufferers describe having experienced negative reactions or misunderstandings from people. Psychotherapy is a place where you may begin to explore some of these issues.
The very nature of chronic illness often results in a reduced social life, and therefore may lead to a feeling of isolation. For this reason, I am in the process of setting up a low cost therapy/support group. The group will offer a safe space to discuss your experiences, in the company of those who may be going through something similar.
To arrange a free initial consultation, or find out more information on any of the services I offer, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I offer individual, short or long term, counselling and psychotherapy. I aim to be as flexible as possible to accommodate your specific health condition.
The group will consist of between 4 - 8 people, and shall run for 10 weeks at a time.
Occasionally, I hold free talks on the subject of how you may psychologically support yourself whilst living with a health condition.
